About Rikyu

Rikyu Health & Beauty is named after the 15th century Japanese tea ceremony master “Sen no Rikyu”, historically the most influential creator of this art. His vision was to incorporate the ancient aesthetic of “wabi-sabi” into the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Wabi-sabi represents that true, authentic beauty appears through simplicity, modesty and tranquillity. In the same way that he modified this conception towards his art, the Rikyu philosophy is to bring out your elegance and serenity through our hospitality and simple yet high quality services.

Proprietor

Emi has been working as a beauty and complementary therapist for over 10 years in both the UK and her native Japan. She also has many other strings to her bow, including qualifications for the practice of Aromatherapy, Reiki, Bowen Technique and La Stone Therapy.

Her considerable experience has given her the insight and knowledge to meet any demands with her unique massage technique, based on a mixture of traditional Oriental methods and modern Western styles. She believes that this holistic approach gives the client both a pleasurable, relaxing experience and the satisfaction of seeing definite results!
Emi has worked with a wide range of clients, including Premiership footballers and media celebrities as well as business executives and members of the local community.
